Poster Sabotage “Pathetic” - Trimble
Westminster election candidate for Upper Bann David Trimble has described the removal and defacing of Ulster Unionist election posters in the Upper Bann constituency as ‘pathetic.’
In a statement from his Lurgan office Mr Trimble said:
“I have it on good authority that election workers from other parties have been removing Ulster Unionist Party posters in Waringstown and replacing them with their own. A number of my posters have also been taken down in Craigavon Central and Portadown.
“It really is pathetic the lengths that some parties will go to in their attempts to sabotage the Ulster Unionist Party’s election campaign.
“At the end of the day elections are fought and won on policies, not on an overabundance of posters - the public will have the final decision when they go to the ballot box.”
